Job Description

About the Delivery Practice Manager, AWS Professional Services Role

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking an experienced Delivery Practice Manager (DPM) to join our Associate to Consultant (A2C) ProServe Shared Delivery Team (SDT). In this role, you will be instrumental in growing our early-in-career talent by managing a team of ProServe Delivery Consultants. You will support AWS enterprise customers through transformative projects, leveraging your IT and/or Management Consulting background to serve as a strategic advisor to customers, partners, and internal AWS teams.

As a DPM, you will build and manage a team of Delivery Consultants and/or Engagement Managers, working with customers and partners to architect and implement innovative solutions. Routine engagement with Director and C-level executives, as well as governing boards, will be a part of your responsibilities, alongside opportunity capture and driving engagement delivery. You will collaborate closely with partner teams, drive business development initiatives through thought leadership, provide portfolio guidance and oversight, and strive to exceed customer satisfaction targets. Your primary focus, directly or through your teams, will be understanding and defining business outcomes for customers by building trust, identifying applicable AWS Professional Services offerings, and creating proposals and Statements of Work (SOWs).

Your experience leading teams within the technology sector will enable you to optimize team performance through tailored people development plans, ensuring alignment with customer needs, and possessing the skills and capacity to address customer outcomes. You will translate technical concepts into business value for customers and engage in technical depth with teams. Cultivating strong customer, Amazon Global Sales (AGS), and ProServe team relationships will enable exceptional business performance. DPMs are measured by consistently delivering customer engagements by supporting sales through scoping technical requirements, delivering engagements on time, within budget, and exceeding customer expectations. You will hold the Practice total utilization goal and be responsible for optimizing team performance.

The AWS Professional Services organization is a global team of experts helping customers realize desired business outcomes using the AWS Cloud. We collaborate with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to execute enterprise cloud computing initiatives, providing assistance through offerings and focused guidance via global specialty practices covering various solutions, technologies, and industries.

In this role, you will lead and build our complex and ambitious “Associate to Consultant” (A2C) SDT, elevating the technical execution and delivery of your team of early-in-career Associate Consultants. The A2C team hires early-in-career technologists, including recent graduates, providing training, coaching, and mentoring to develop them into productive, customer-facing technical consultants. Associate Consultants may specialize in Infrastructure, Application Development, DevOps, Data, and Security. You will manage approximately 10-20 Associate Consultants. This is an on-site position; you are expected to work from an AWS office or customer sites at least 5+ days a week.
