About the Role
The Data Center Operations Engineer at Amazon Web Services (AWS) is responsible for maintaining global data center infrastructure. The role involves resolving issues related to systems and network hardware, troubleshooting Linux servers and XEN virtualization, and handling physical layer outages. You will participate in 24x7 on-call rotations, manage rack installations, and coordinate with third-party vendors to ensure continuous uptime and efficiency.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Maintain high system reliability through troubleshooting and ticket resolution.
- Troubleshoot Linux server and XEN virtualization issues.
- Respond to physical outages in systems and network hardware.
- Participate in power and cooling events with 24x7 on-call and shift rotations.
- Install and configure racks according to internal SLAs.
- Triage and resolve trouble tickets for devices.
- Conduct physical replacement of server and network devices.
- Define metrics to increase customer uptime.
- Enforce Amazon's security best practices.
- Collaborate with vendors and contractors and contribute to process improvements.

Basic & Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of IT infrastructure experience.
- Solid understanding of data center facilities and Linux/Unix administration.
- Hands-on expertise in hardware troubleshooting.
- Preferred: Data center operations, network certifications (CCENT/CCNA, Network+), scripting skills, project coordination, and bilingual skills (Korean/English).
