About the Role

The Amazon Web Services Professional Services (ProServe) team is seeking a skilled Cloud Security Consultant to join our team at Amazon Web Services (AWS). In this role, you'll work closely with customers to implement, automate, and manage AWS solutions to protect customer assets, enable customer security teams to operate more effectively, and ensure customers don’t accept unnecessary risk. Possessing a deep understanding of AWS products and services, as a Cloud Security Consultant you will be proficient in architecting complex, scalable, and secure solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of each customer. You’ll work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, assess current security capabilities, and develop and implement optimized security controls in AWS. As trusted advisors to our customers, providing guidance on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions, you will be responsible for executing implementation, ensuring adherence to best practices, and managing customer security risks throughout the project. Key job responsibilities: As an experienced technology professional, you will be responsible for:
  • Solve technical problems independently
  • Collaborating with others to define and implement solutions
  • Escalate risks with options, impact, and recommended solutions.
  • Is an established expert in at least 1 technology domain
  • Implement, automate, and manage scalable and secure AWS solutions tailored to customer needs
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support throughout project delivery
Basic Qualifications:
  • 3+ years of cloud architecture and solution implementation experience
  • Experience implementing AWS services in a variety of distributed computing environments
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, economics, computer science, data science, engineering, or other related field
  • 3+ years of any combination of the following: application security frameworks, identity and access controls, incident response, mobile security, cloud computing and security, AI security, threat intelligence, and penetration testing experience
  • 1+ years in automating security operations including scripting and automation to build scalable and secure environments, automating security assessments and remediation workflows, and implementing security policies as code
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards including HIPAA and GDPR
  • Experience in communicating technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • AWS Professional level certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional, Certified Security Specialty) preferred
  • Implementation experience with enterprise security solutions (e.g., WAF, IPS, Anti-DDOS, SIEM)
  • Experience in automation through devops scripting (e.g. shell, python, ruby, powershell)
