Overview

The Senior Data Architect, ProServe Shared Delivery Team at Amazon Web Services (AWS) works closely with customers to design, implement, and manage AWS solutions that meet technical and business objectives. This role is instrumental in customer success throughout their cloud journey, providing technical expertise and best practices.

Job Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Lead project teams to design and implement end-to-end AWS data and analytics solutions.
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support during project delivery.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose migration and modernization strategies.
  • Advise customers on industry trends, emerging technologies, and innovative solutions.
  • Mentor team members, offer training, and develop reusable artifacts.

About the Team

The AWS Professional Services team is a global, diverse group that partners with customer teams and the AWS Partner Network (APN) to deliver enterprise cloud initiatives. The team emphasizes inclusion, career growth, mentorship, and work-life balance.

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years in cloud architecture and implementation.
  • 8+ years leading technical teams, with hands-on experience in data or software engineering.
  • 8+ years in designing scalable, high availability data solutions including ETL/ELT pipelines.
  • 5+ years proficiency in SQL, Python and at least one other language (Java, Scala, etc.).
  • Fluency in French and English if located in Quebec.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with a wide range of AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM, VPC, CloudFormation).
  • AWS Professional certifications (Solutions Architect Professional, DevOps Engineer Professional).
  • Experience with automation and scripting (Terraform, Python).
  • Knowledge of security and compliance standards (HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Experience with distributed frameworks (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, etc.) and governance mechanisms.
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools and technologies.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary ranges from $126,000/year up to $210,400/year, along with equity, sign-on payments, and a full range of benefits.
