Job Overview - ADA Software Engineer

Join ALTEN as an ADA Software Engineer to develop software that protects airborne platforms from RF-based threats. You will work on cutting-edge electronic warfare systems, developing real-time, high-integrity embedded software across the full development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop real-time embedded software for defence systems using ADA
  • Manage the full software lifecycle from requirements to integration and test
  • Ensure compliance with high-integrity software standards
  • Collaborate with systems, hardware, and test engineers
  • Maintain high-quality technical documentation
  • Demonstrate initiative and proactive learning

Qualifications & Skills

Candidates should have 5+ years’ experience in real-time embedded software development, strong ADA programming skills, and be knowledgeable about safety-critical software practices. Eligibility for UK Security Clearance (SC) is required.

Desirable Skills

  • Knowledge of DO-178C and safety-critical software assurance
  • Experience with DOORS and Dimension
  • Background in electronics engineering or embedded hardware interaction
  • Familiarity with lab-based testing and debugging
