Job Description

ALTEN is seeking a talented V.I.E Software Engineer to join our dynamic team in Manching, Germany as part of the Volontariat International en Entreprise (V.I.E) program. This role offers young professionals the chance to gain valuable international experience while contributing to innovative software projects.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain high-quality software applications using various programming languages and frameworks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and test new features.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize code for efficient performance.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends.
  • Document technical specifications and maintain clear code documentation.
  • Assist in the analysis and resolution of software-related issues.

Qualifications

  • Eligibility for the V.I.E program (EU citizenship, aged 18-28).
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language such as Java, Python, or C++.
  • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum and other software development methodologies.
  • Experience with version control systems (preferably Git).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
  • Knowledge of database management and SQL.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
  • Fluency in English; German or French is a plus.
