Software Engineer Controls

Transforming the Future with Convergence of Simulation and Data. Altair Engineering, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer Controls to develop embedded control algorithms and code for vehicle features such as climate control, starting, locking, lighting, alarms, windows, powered enclosures, and seats.

Job Summary

This is a contract position based in Kanata, ON. The role requires expertise in embedded software development, automotive protocols, and automation testing.

What You Will Do

  • Develop embedded control algorithms for vehicle features.
  • Produce and test code related to climate, lighting, and more.
  • Work with automated scripting and test environment setups including Jenkins.
  • Analyze test execution results and support defect management activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • Expertise in embedded software and embedded automation testing on hardware.
  • Experience with Python coding and automotive protocols.
  • Familiar with blackbox testing methods.

Preferred Skills

  • Automated scripting in Python.
  • Experience in requirement analysis, test strategy definition, and test case automation.
  • Ability to analyze defect trends and drive continuous quality improvement.
