The Role

As the Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Alt, you will own the core card pricing model that drives cash advance decisions, risk assessment, and card valuations. You will leverage your expertise in data science and ML operations to improve model accuracy and optimize infrastructure for scalability and cost-effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

  • Optimize pricing model to reduce costs and improve accuracy.
  • Iterate on underwriting model for balanced risk and disbursements.
  • Lead full ML lifecycle from training to production deployment.
  • Collaborate with Expert Pricers to enhance domain expertise in trading cards.
  • Design experiments and backtest to validate new predictive features.
  • Manage AWS infrastructure and maintain a low latency pricing API.

What You Bring

  • 10+ years of engineering experience with 4-5 years in ML.
  • Expertise in Python and libraries like scikit-learn, XGBoost, and pandas.
  • Strong ML Ops background deploying models on AWS (ECS, Docker).
  • Experience with Airflow for data orchestration.
  • Proven track record in improving model accuracy with feature generation.
  • Experience with ensemble methods and pricing/underwriting models.
