Overview of the Electronic Hardware Engineer Internship at Alstom

We are currently seeking a motivated intern for an Electronic Hardware Engineer Internship to contribute to the automation of module testing activities. This involves developing Python scripts and designing dedicated test boards. The ideal candidate will possess a foundational background in electronics and programming, coupled with a strong interest in firmware and hardware validation.

Key Activities and Responsibilities

  • Develop Python scripts to facilitate interface with electronic modules via CAN bus.
  • Design and assemble test boards, producing approximately 1 to 5 prototypes.
  • Implement Python scripts for effective control and management of the test board's functionalities.
  • Execute rigorous test procedures and actively support validation activities for hardware and firmware.

Educational Requirements

Candidates should be currently pursuing or have completed a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.

Competencies & Skills

  • Basic programming knowledge, specifically with Python.
  • Foundational understanding of PCB design and development principles.
  • Good oral communication skills for effective team interaction.
  • Proficiency in written English for documentation and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with other engineering teams.
  • Capability to work productively with remote collaborators.

Internship Duration

This internship requires a minimum commitment of 6 months, aligned with board lead times to ensure project continuity.
