The Role
As the Fractional CTO Technology & AI Governance at ALOHAS, you will provide senior technical leadership. You will define technical vision, govern technology architecture, and oversee partner relationships, ensuring technology translates into business value without becoming a delivery bottleneck.
Your Challenge
- Define and evolve the technical vision of an AI-native company.
- Ensure partner ecosystem delivers quality on time.
- Act as safety net for critical technical decisions.
- Translate technology insights to the CEO and leadership.
C-Level & Business Alignment
- Translate business objectives into executable technology strategies.
- Communicate technology vision and risks to the CEO.
- Support leadership decisions on growth and scalability.
- Collaborate with the COO to integrate AI tools.
Partner Ecosystem Oversight
- Manage 5+ specialized technology partners.
- Conduct quarterly partner performance reviews.
- Oversee contract negotiations and vendor selection.
- Maintain backup vendor relationships.
Architecture & Technical Strategy
- Define target architectures for scalability and performance.
- Review and validate architectural decisions.
- Lead transformation initiatives when necessary.
AI Agent Architecture Oversight
- Guide AI agent strategy and tool integrations.
- Balance rapid experimentation with production stability.
Testing, Quality & Reliability Strategy
- Define comprehensive testing strategies and quality standards.
- Review partner testing practices and deliverable quality.
Governance Framework & Tech Debt
- Establish lightweight governance and consistent documentation standards.
- Set strategies for technical debt reduction while balancing features.
AI Software Crafter Enablement & Backup
- Act as strategic counterpart and backup for the AI Software Crafter.
- Be available for temporary increases during transitions.
What You Bring
Proven experience as CTO, Fractional CTO, VP Engineering or Principal Architect, with a solid track record in architectural evolution and transformation across digital platforms. You have experience managing technology vendors and understand modern backend/frontend architectures, cloud-native platforms (GCP), API-first systems, and CI/CD best practices. Familiarity with AI/LLM and agentic systems, along with hands-on experience in fashion, retail, or e-commerce are strong pluses.
