About the Office Claims Adjuster Role
This Office Claims Adjuster position at Ally focuses on claim adjudication for property and casualty claims. You will investigate, evaluate, negotiate, and settle claims, maintaining detailed records and ensuring compliance with policy provisions and state regulations.
The Work Itself
The role includes handling first notice of loss reports, conducting investigations, negotiating settlements, answering coverage questions, and ensuring proper documentation. You will communicate compassionately, work closely with field appraisers, adjust reserves, and identify subrogation or salvage situations to protect Ally's interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Investigate loss reports and establish liability promptly.
- Negotiate settlements within authorized guidelines.
- Maintain complete and compliant claim documentation.
- Work with field appraisers for timely damage evaluations.
- Adjust reserves and process payments accurately.
- Identify subrogation and salvage opportunities.
- Comply with state regulations and Fair Claims Practices Acts.
Qualifications & Skills
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent. Preferred qualifications include an Associate or Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline, 1+ years in customer service or financial services, and prior property and casualty experience. Licensing and advanced Microsoft Office skills are beneficial.
