Position Overview

The Cloud Platform Engineer Lead Consultant role is fully remote and can be performed from anywhere in the United States. The position is based in Northbrook, Illinois and involves leading complex projects in Big Data platform development and advanced analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead medium to high complexity Big Data platform projects.
  • Develop and code advanced analytics solutions.
  • Integrate new tools with existing Big Data systems.
  • Collaborate with data science communities and analytics users.
  • Plan and manage project tasks ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Mentor and develop team members.

Requirements

A Master’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent) and 5 years’ experience, or a Bachelor’s degree and 7 years’ experience in similar roles is required.

Specific technical skills include:

  • Big Data technologies: Hadoop, HDFS, Yarn, Spark, Hive, and Kafka.
  • Containerization tools: Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Programming languages: Python, Java, SQL.
  • Build tools: Maven and Jenkins.
