Role Overview: Senior RF Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled and self-motivated RF Engineer to lead the architecture, design, and integration of advanced RF systems in satellite communications. This senior hands-on role focuses on RF circuit design (especially in mmWave technology, 10-30GHz) and involves working with industry-leading tools and collaborating across functions.
Key Responsibilities
- RF Subsystem Design: Design RF front-end modules (LNAs, PAs, filters, mixers, frequency converters) for Ku and Ka bands.
- System Analysis: Conduct system analysis, propagation modelling, embedded RF component design, and performance simulations using System Vue, ADS, and MATLAB.
- Prototyping & Testing: Develop schematic designs and validate RF performance with VNAs, spectrum analysers, signal generators, and satellite modems.
- EM Simulation: Utilize tools such as System Vue, Keysight ADS, and HFSS for RF system simulations.
- Simulation & Measurement Analysis: Analyze simulation results and experimental data using MATLAB, Python, or similar tools.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Integrate with digital modems, antenna systems, and mechanical enclosures for overall performance optimization.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed reports and presentations on designs, simulations, and measurements.
- Productisation: Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and manufacturing teams to optimize designs for manufacturability, cost, and reliability.
- Compliance & Certification: Ensure all designs meet international SATCOM regulatory standards including FCC, ITU, ETSI, and EMC requirements.
Qualifications & Skills
Essential Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, RF/Microwave Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred) with 7-8+ years of experience in RF/microwave design, especially for satellite ground terminals or SATCOM systems. Must have deep expertise in analog and RF circuit design, proficiency with RF test equipment, and experience using simulation tools such as System Vue, ADS, and MATLAB.
Desired Skills: Experience with PCB layout using Altium, programming in MATLAB/Python for data analysis, and EM simulation tools like HFSS or CST.
