The Opportunity: Security Officer Front Receptionist
As a Security Officer Front Receptionist in San Mateo, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries, such as retail and malls. As a Front Desk Officer at a busy retail mall location, you will welcome guests, verify access, answer questions, and provide clear directions with a customer-first approach. You will monitor cameras and alarms, document activity, and communicate with site contacts to help identify and deter security-related issues. Compensation and Schedule
- Position Type: Flex Part-Time
- Pay Rate: $25.00 / Hour
- Typical Shift: Saturday 10:30 PM - 07:00 AM

Key Responsibilities
- Provide customer service to clients and guests at a retail location front desk by following Allied Universal security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
- Control access at the front desk by greeting and directing visitors, assisting with visitor registration, issuing credentials as required, and coordinating with onsite personnel for approvals.
- Monitor the front desk area and available systems to help to deter unauthorized access and/or suspicious activity, and report concerns per site procedures.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, including documenting events and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
- Communicate clearly with management, store staff, and/or public responders, and complete required reports, logs, and other front desk administrative tasks.
Minimum Requirements
- Be at least 18 years of age (for unarmed roles).
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only (if applicable).
