Overview

The Senior Investment Associate role at Allied Talent Partners supports early-stage investment activities for a new green infrastructure project development fund in Africa. This interim, 6-month contract position may extend and is ideal for a skilled investment professional experienced in project finance and infrastructure investment. The role involves working closely with the CEO and Investment Director in a small, high-performing team.

Role and Responsibilities

Reporting directly to the Fund CEO / Head of Investments, you will:

  • Support origination, due diligence, and structuring of projects within a USD 3–15 million range.
  • Conduct financial modeling, transaction analysis, and risk assessment for greenfield infrastructure projects.
  • Prepare investment memos, due diligence materials, and presentations.
  • Participate in negotiations with sponsors, lenders, and government partners.
  • Assist in capital raising and investor due diligence processes.
  • Contribute to establishing internal investment systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to ensure coordinated project execution and knowledge sharing.

Requirements and Skills

Required Experience: 7–10 years in project development, project finance, or infrastructure investment. Experience in investment banking, DFIs, utilities, or private equity is preferred. Proficiency in financial modeling, analytical and valuation skills, and a strong understanding of project finance structures, PPPs, and concession frameworks are essential. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English are required, with French being a plus.

Working Arrangement

This is a fully remote or location-flexible role with occasional travel within Africa for project engagement and partner coordination. The position is designed to bring immediate, high-caliber project development capacity to the early phase of the fund launch.
