Overview
The Interim Financial Controller Fund-Level role at Allied Talent Partners supports a private investment firm's back-office finance function during a critical year-end and reporting period. This fixed-term, full-time contract is focused on delivering quarterly and year-end financial reporting, resolving statutory issues, and designing repeatable finance processes.
Key Deliverables
Reporting (Quarterly & Year-End): Deliver accurate and timely quarterly and year-end financial reports, coordinate inputs, validate data, and produce decision-ready outputs.
Statutory & Regulatory Compliance: Resolve statutory and tax issues; ensure compliance with local regulatory requirements; manage statutory submissions.
Process Design & Controls: Establish a reporting and compliance calendar, design core finance processes, and document controls.
Finance Operations & Coordination: Act as integrator between fund leadership, third-party CFO service provider, and fund administrator; manage general ledger and trial balance oversight.
Requirements
- 8+ years in financial control, fund finance or closely related role
- Experience in private equity/investment fund environments preferred
- Experience in African markets and knowledge of local regulatory and tax requirements
- Professionally qualified accountant (e.g. CA(SA), ACCA, CPA)
- Hands-on experience with Xero or similar accounting platforms
- Audit training or experience working with external auditors is an advantage
Working Arrangement
This is a remote role with availability during local business hours and minimal travel.
