Software Engineer at Alkami Technology
Alkami is seeking a Software Engineer to join our dynamic team. You will be instrumental in building computer software systems, participating in the design process from beginning to end. This role requires demonstrating technical domain knowledge of the company's applications, services, systems, and frameworks. As a remote-first company, most positions are remote within the US, with exceptions noted in the job title.
Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Write clean, object-oriented code for functional web applications, utilizing design patterns, data structures, and relational databases.
- Participate in the entire application lifecycle, with a primary focus on coding and debugging.
- Troubleshoot and debug applications to ensure optimal performance and user experience.
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use and maintainability.
- Gather and address technical and design requirements with minimal assistance.
- Follow development standards set within the team and collaborate effectively within an agile framework.
- Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, contributing to a problem-solving attitude.
- Respond promptly to on-call incidents, troubleshooting and resolving critical disruptions to ensure minimal downtime.

Recommended Experience & Education
- Minimum 2 years of related experience, or an advanced degree without experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications
- 2-4 years of experience in software development or a related field.
- Programming skills in an object-oriented language (e.g., Java, C#) with full-stack development experience.
- Experience with database frameworks (NoSQL, SQL Databases, ORM).
- Understanding of the entire software development process (design, development, deployment).
- Experience developing and deploying applications for Cloud Native Infrastructure.
- Experience working within an Agile framework.
- Good analytical and time management skills, with a proven ability to deliver value.
- Familiarity with monitoring and supporting production systems, including issue identification, resolution, and proactive measures.
- Knowledge of application performance measurements and REST API best practices.
- Experience developing unit tests, UI automation tests, and integration tests.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation.
