AlixPartners seeks a passionate AI and Machine Learning Director to lead high-value, complex projects. In this role, you will work on front-page business challenges for owners, boards, and CEOs, assisting companies in urgent, high-impact situations. You will lead client engagements, analyze corporate performance, drive cost reductions, revenue growth, and profitability improvements within your area of expertise. This leadership position requires commercial acumen and a track record of business development in professional services. You will have opportunities for professional development and career growth in a high-energy, collaborative environment. This is a full-time Director position.Key Responsibilities
- Create ETL workflows, scripts, statistical models, and visualizations.
- Design, build, test, execute, and support data migration, cleansing, and wrangling processes.
- Analyze underlying data and data structures for in-depth insights.
- Select features, build, and optimize classifiers using machine learning techniques.
- Execute machine learning projects using state-of-the-art methods.
- Extend company data with third-party sources and create automated anomaly detection systems.
- Experience with common data science toolkits like Python, PySpark, and R is highly desirable.
- Understand machine learning algorithms such as k-NN, Naive Bayes, SVM, and Decision Forests.
- Collect and parse data from various corporate databases (SQL, NoSQL, flat files) and unstructured text.
- Automate tasks with scripts and handle missing data using advanced models.
- Build effective, reliable ETL processes for data ingestion.
- Design database models, consistent table structures, and dimensional schemas for data quality.
- Apply modeling approaches, business intelligence patterns, and data management techniques.
- Understand cloud architectures (Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Demonstrate advanced SQL skills, including CTEs and window functions.
- Review and analyze legacy code/scripts for data processing logic.
- Apply statistical learning languages to build predictive models.
- Possess knowledge of distributed systems, specifically HDFS and the Hadoop ecosystem.
- Utilize interactive data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
- Present results compellingly to C-level executives and non-technical audiences.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a quantitative field.
- 10+ years of applicable professional experience.
- Ability to synthesize requests from clients and team members.
- Creative, innovative problem-solving skills with a focus on simple solutions.
- Knowledge of programming languages like Python, JavaScript, C#, or similar.
- Familiarity with at least one ETL tool (e.g., Alteryx, KNIME, SSIS, Pentaho, DataStage).
- Strong motivation to learn new analytical techniques and software tools.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability and willingness to work long hours and travel as needed.
- Ability to work full-time in an office and remote environment.
