About the role

About The Role

What if your offensive security expertise could directly shape how AI understands and reasons about real-world cyber threats? We're looking for experienced security professionals to analyze adversarial attack paths, model threat behavior, and help train the frontier AI systems that will define how the world thinks about cybersecurity.

This role is not about writing exploits — it's about the strategic, analytical layer that makes offensive security genuinely hard: understanding how attacks unfold, where defenses break down, and how risk cascades through modern environments. Your knowledge becomes the ground truth that makes AI smarter about security.

Organization: Alignerr

Type: Hourly Contract

Location: Remote

Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze realistic attack paths, kill chains, and adversary strategies across modern infrastructure
  • Classify weaknesses, misconfigurations, and defensive gaps with clear, structured reasoning
  • Review red-team-style scenarios and intrusion narratives for accuracy, completeness, and impact
  • Generate, label, and validate adversarial reasoning data used to train and evaluate AI systems
  • Articulate how attacks unfold, what they impact, and what tradeoffs defenders face
  • Work independently and asynchronously — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • 2+ years in pentesting, red team operations, or a blue-team role with deep, hands-on attack knowledge
  • You understand how real attacks unfold in production environments — not just theory
  • You can clearly explain attack chains, lateral movement, and business impact to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Naturally analytical and detail-oriented — you think in systems and see where things break
  • Strong written communicator who can document complex scenarios with precision and clarity
  • No prior AI experience required

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK, Cyber Kill Chain, or STRIDE
  • Experience with cloud environments, Active Directory attacks, or modern application security
  • Background in threat intelligence, purple team exercises, or security architecture review
  • Certifications such as OSCP, CEH, GPEN, or similar — helpful but not required

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside leading AI research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you
  • Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based work
  • Apply your offensive security expertise in a uniquely high-impact, non-destructive context
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch
