Generalist Writer - English (Contract)
Labelbox is seeking a Generalist Writer to help shape the data that powers frontier AI. This is a fully remote, asynchronous contract role, requiring a minimum of 15 hours per week, with a pay range of $25 – $100 per hour. Projects are staffed on a rolling basis.
What You'll Do
- Educate AI: Review AI-generated written content across multiple genres and formats, providing constructive feedback on clarity, organization, and communication effectiveness.
- Problem Solving: Apply your expertise to guide AI in reasoning through complex writing challenges, including argumentation, structural integrity, tone, and audience engagement across diverse disciplines.
- Red Teaming: Proactively identify biases, factual inaccuracies, or ambiguous passages in AI outputs, and design tests to ensure the AI consistently produces high-quality, accurate, and well-communicated written work.
You're a Great Fit If
- You are enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- You possess professional, academic, or technical writing, editing, or related field experience (required).
- You have a strong ability to communicate ideas clearly, effectively, and with meticulous attention to detail across various formats and subjects.
- You demonstrate excellent command of English grammar, style, and tone, coupled with a keen eye for accuracy and coherence.
- You are comfortable providing constructive feedback and evaluating writing for clarity, organization, and overall impact.
- Bonus: Experience with data labeling, RLHF, or other AI training projects is a plus.
