About the role
Electrical Engineering — AI Data Trainer
Alignerr partners with the world's leading AI research labs to build smarter, more capable AI systems. We are seeking electrical engineers to help us achieve this goal. As an AI Data Trainer, you will stress-test advanced language models on real engineering problems, expose their blind spots, and help shape how AI reasons through complex technical challenges.
This is a fully remote, flexible contract role designed for engineers who want to do meaningful work on their own schedule.
Organization: Alignerr
Type: Hourly Contract
Location: Remote
Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Design Challenging Problems: Craft advanced electrical engineering problems across circuit analysis, power systems, signal processing, electromagnetics, and more to push AI to its limits.
- Author Ground-Truth Solutions: Develop rigorous, step-by-step solutions and benchmark responses that AI models use to learn correct engineering reasoning.
- Audit Technical Accuracy: Evaluate AI-generated code, circuit diagrams, and mathematical proofs for correctness, safety, and compliance with engineering standards (IEEE, NEC, etc.).
- Improve AI Reasoning: Identify flawed logic in AI outputs and provide structured, expert feedback that directly improves how models think through engineering problems.
- Document Failure Modes: Systematically record where and how AI reasoning breaks down so research teams can address gaps.
Who You Are
- Pursuing or holding a Master's or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a closely related field.
- Strong domain knowledge in one or more of: VLSI, control systems, telecommunications, power electronics, embedded systems, or signal processing.
- Able to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and precisely in writing.
- Highly detail-oriented when reviewing equations, circuit logic, and technical documentation.
- Self-directed and comfortable working asynchronously.
- No prior AI experience required.
Nice to Have
- Experience with data annotation, technical evaluation, or quality assurance workflows.
- Familiarity with simulation tools (MATLAB, SPICE, etc.).
- Background in standards compliance or engineering documentation.
Why Join Us
- Work on cutting-edge AI projects with top-tier research labs.
- Fully remote and flexible — work when and how much you want.
