As a Biology Subject Matter Expert - AI Content Specialist, you will help fine-tune large language models, similar to ChatGPT, by leveraging your deep understanding of biology. Your responsibilities will include designing challenging biological problems, evaluating how effectively AI solves them, and collaborating closely with researchers to develop more robust benchmarks for AI performance.

Alignerr offers this hourly contract position with compensation ranging from $35–$55 per hour. The role is entirely remote, with a commitment of 10–40 hours per week, providing significant flexibility.

What You’ll Do

• Design advanced biology questions to test AI performance across various domains.
• Develop clear, step-by-step solutions for complex biological problems with rigorous logic.
• Evaluate AI outputs meticulously for accuracy, scientific correctness, and quality of reasoning.
• Collaborate with AI researchers to refine and improve benchmarks covering undergraduate to Masters-level biology topics.

Requirements

• Masters degree (pursuing or completed) in Biology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a closely related scientific field.
• Demonstrated strong biology reasoning and problem-solving skills across advanced biological domains.
• Exceptional ability to communicate complex scientific ideas clearly and concisely in writing.
• Proven capability to provide structured, constructive feedback on technical content.
• No prior AI experience is required, making your biological expertise the primary asset.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience with data annotation, data quality assurance, or working with evaluation systems.
