Job Description
Application Security Analyst (AI Training)
About The Role
What if your security knowledge could influence the next generation of AI systems? At Alignerr, we partner with the world's leading AI research labs to build and train frontier AI models — and we need experienced application security professionals to help teach AI how to think about software risk.
This is a unique opportunity to apply your real-world AppSec expertise in a high-impact, flexible freelance role. You won't just be finding bugs — you'll be shaping how AI understands, prioritizes, and reasons about security vulnerabilities at scale.
Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week
What You'll Do
- Analyze realistic application security scenarios spanning code, APIs, and system behavior
- Classify vulnerabilities including authentication flaws, injection risks, and business logic weaknesses
- Evaluate secure coding practices and assess remediation strategies
- Build and validate security-focused reasoning datasets that train AI to accurately assess application risk
- Distinguish genuine exploitability from theoretical or low-impact risk — and explain your reasoning clearly
Who You Are
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in application, product, or software security
- Solid familiarity with the OWASP Top 10 and common vulnerabilities found in production environments
- Able to think like an attacker and an engineer — understanding both exploitability and remediation
- Strong written communication skills with the ability to structure and explain security reasoning clearly
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently and asynchronously
Nice to Have
- Experience with security code review, penetration testing, or bug bounty programs
- Familiarity with secure SDLC practices or DevSecOps workflows
- Background in creating security documentation, threat models, or risk assessments
Why Join Us
- Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside world-class research teams
- Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule, on your own terms
