Aldar Education is actively seeking an exceptional UAE National Inclusion Assistant for Al Rayana Charter School in Abu Dhabi, with an immediate start. Responsibilities

Main Duties
  • Provide comprehensive support to individual pupils, both in groups and individually, within and outside the classroom, ensuring full participation in school activities.
  • Act proactively regarding health and safety protocols.
  • Assist in implementing Individual Education Programmes (IEP) for pupils, linking support to IEP goals and monitoring progress.
  • Support pupils with additional needs, including academic, physical, emotional, and behavioural difficulties, fostering social and communication skills.
  • Assist home room and subject teachers with maintaining accurate pupil records.
  • Prepare necessary resources to help identified students access and differentiate the curriculum to support learning effectively.
  • Promote student independence by teaching clear and meaningful strategies.
  • Uphold the school's aims and comply with health and safety regulations, code of conduct, and relevant policies.
  • Maintain high standards of dress, punctuality, and attendance.
  • Attend required training sessions and professional meetings.
  • Collaborate with other professionals such as speech therapists and occupational therapists as needed.
  • Build strong working relationships with home room and subject teachers through regular and open communication.
  • Undertake other duties as required by the Principal or Head of Inclusion.
Specific Duties
  • Adhere strictly to confidentiality guidelines, understanding that the Head of Inclusion and teachers are responsible for formal parent communications.
  • Academic Assistance
    • Deliver individual instruction as prescribed by the teacher and provide group instruction where appropriate.
    • Demonstrate various instructional activities.
    • Monitor work assigned by the teacher, checking and correcting individual student work in line with school policy while in progress.
    • Ensure individual pupils and peers remain on task.
    • Praise and reinforce pupil achievements and report progress to the teacher.
    • Prepare materials for individual students as needed to scaffold classroom learning.
  • Supervise individual pupils in the classroom, specialist lessons, and other locations.
  • Participate in developing behaviour policy, promoting pupil self-esteem, and managing misbehaviour according to whole school policy.
  • Attend and subsequently deliver interventions for SaLT, OT, and ABA therapy to generalize and consolidate target skills, maximizing therapy impact.
  • Attend ECA/trips and visits.
  • Experienced Inclusion Assistants may be asked to mentor new Inclusion Assistants; new Inclusion Assistants may be asked to participate in mentoring.

Minimum Qualifications
  • SEN qualification – Diploma
Minimum Experience
  • 2 years SEN experience
