Job Opportunity: Maintenance Worker I - Parking Services
The Facilities Maintenance and Engineering Department at the Peter Lougheed Center is seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented individual for a full-time Temporary Maintenance Worker I position focused on Parking Services. This role is ideal for someone looking to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment within a diverse team that prioritizes patient care and workplace safety.
Job Description
As a Maintenance Worker I in Parking Services, you will perform routine tasks related to facility maintenance within parkades and parking lots. Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining lawns, flowerbeds, trees, and shrubs.
- Collecting and disposing of garbage.
- Removing snow and ice, and spreading salt and sand.
- Cleaning mechanical rooms and shop areas.
- Assisting tradespeople and other maintenance staff as needed.
- Utilizing manual and self-propelled equipment to clean parkade and parking lot areas.
- Performing minor repairs and servicing within parking areas.
- Washing parkades and parking lots using water hoses or high-pressure cleaning equipment.
- Performing spot painting in parkades and parking lots.
- Removing, replacing, and installing parking signage.
- Manually removing snow from specific areas of the parkade/parking lots.
- Driving hospital vehicles and equipment.
- Barricading areas as required.
- Ensuring safe operation and maintenance of all cleaning equipment.
- Performing minor servicing and cleaning of parkade cleaning equipment.
- Maintaining records of completed jobs, labor, and work requests.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
- Completion of Grade 10 or equivalent.
- Possession of a valid driver's licence.

- Must be able to be N95/half mask fit tested.
