Job Description
IT Analyst II at Alberta Health Services
Are you a motivated, detail-oriented data professional looking to advance your career in healthcare data integration, analytics, and business intelligence? Join our Reporting and Analytics team and play a critical role in delivering trusted data that supports clinical, operational, and financial decision-making. As an IT Analyst II, you will support and administer mission-critical data systems that power enterprise reporting and analytics.
You will work closely with end users, clinicians, service delivery teams, and technical partners to collect and clarify requirements, translate business and clinical needs into technical solutions, and own delivery from initial requirements through final project implementation. Your responsibilities will include system and application administration, development, monitoring, and support of data integration pipelines, and ensuring data accuracy, reliability, and auditability. You will design, implement, and maintain solutions across cloud-based and on-premises environments, with a strong emphasis on data quality, security, and regulatory compliance in a healthcare setting. In this role, you will troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues, lead assigned technical project tasks and contribute to continuous improvement and system enhancements. You will become Epic certified and serve as a subject matter expert in the Cogito domain, supporting evolving analytics needs across the organization. You will also participate in strategic initiatives and will be required to take part in an on-call rotation to support after-hours operations and ensure continuity of critical reporting systems. This position is based in Calgary or Edmonton with the possibility of a hybrid remote work arrangement.
As an IT Analyst II, you will provide technical support related to information technology applications either directly to users of the systems or to service delivery functions. You will ensure reliable operations of information systems, resolve complex technical problems, find solutions to customer needs, and lead projects and program initiatives. You will be responsible for more advanced application, telecom or technology support duties. You will investigate, diagnose, and resolve complex problems that have typically been escalated several levels before assignment to this position, and will translate business requirements into technical requirements for a solution and recommend a potential approach to the vendor. You will analyse the solution provided to ensure that it fits both technical requirements and business needs. You will also spend time on project or initiative leadership and delivery.
