Through this work, you will support parties seeking to recover unpaid closure costs and facilitate reimbursement from the Orphan Fund where applicable. - Collaborate with internal partners and external organizations, including the Orphan Well Association (OWA), to validate claims and resolve issues.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for industry inquiries, offering clear guidance on cost recovery and regulatory expectations.
- Lead the evaluation of Cost Orders, verifying eligibility and supporting parties through the process when closure costs remain unpaid.
- Support Specialists in preparing regulatory tools, including Orders, Orphaning Memos, and Amendments for statutory decision-making, ensuring legislative compliance, data accuracy, and operational alignment.
What we’re looking for in you:
- Post-secondary diploma in Finance, Business, Engineering, Social Science, Science, or a related field.
- 3+ years of related work experience; experience in a regulatory, compliance-focused environment is highly preferred.
- Experience with environmental policy and/or regulations is considered an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and confidence in working with complex records and data.
- A collaborative, team-first mindset and comfort operating in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong critical thinking skills, sound judgment, and a high level of accountability in decision-making and follow-through.
