Overview
Alberta Blue Cross® is an Alberta based organization dedicated to delivering exceptional customer experience and community leadership. This temporary (18-month) opportunity within the Clinical Drug Services department offers a role that provides support to the department and delivers exceptional special authorization service to over 1.8 million members.
What You Will Do
In the role of Analyst I – Clinical Drug Services, you will:
- Research applicable patient coverage and index documents into an electronic system.
- Assess and make decisions on special authorization requests based on guidelines.
- Enter information into Alberta Blue Cross computer systems to enable claims adjudication.
- Prepare and proofread correspondence related to Special Authorization.
- Handle telephone inquiries from internal and external customers.
- Assist with additional duties and projects as required.
What You Will Have
The ideal candidate will have:
- Post secondary education in a health or related administrative program or relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong organizational abilities.
- Computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and preferably Access and SharePoint/Teams).
- Strong analytical and decision making skills with keen attention to detail.
- A customer oriented mindset and ability to work independently within a team environment.
- Knowledge of drug names and preferably familiarity with medical terminology.
