Clinical Nurse II: Adult Emergency Department

Albany Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and skilled Clinical Nurse II to join our dynamic Emergency Department team. This full-time position operates on a 36-hour work week with day shifts.

About the Role

The Clinical Nurse II plays a vital role in creating a supportive and caring environment for patients, families, and colleagues. You will implement physician orders, administer medications, manage IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and meticulously document patient care. This role involves ordering, interpreting, and evaluating diagnostic tests to assess patient conditions, as well as evaluating patient needs and responses to care. You will apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management, provide primary and emergency care for injuries and illnesses, and collaborate with the nursing team to develop comprehensive Plans of Care. This position also involves directing and guiding ancillary personnel to maintain high standards of professional nursing.

Minimum Qualifications

• Graduate of a professional academic nursing program (Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree).
• Current NYS Registered Nurse license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
• 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care.
• Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills.
• Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools with the ability to apply them to quality improvement initiatives.
