Overview

The IT Operations System Analyst role at Albany International Corp provides end user support and assists with IT projects and tasks. The role is responsible for implementing IT policies, procedures, and best practices as defined by the Global Information Services (GIS) organization.

Responsibilities

All responsibilities carry a local scope. In this role, you will:

  • Strategy & Planning: Assist in developing long-term strategies and capacity planning for future IT needs.
  • Acquisition & Deployment: Implement IT policies and procedures including architecture, security, disaster recovery, standards, purchasing, and technology provisioning; assist with IT budgeting and collaborate with other IT teams to procure new technologies.
  • Operational Management: Provide after-hours and weekend support for high priority issues; travel between sites; process in-person and call based IT support requests; deploy, monitor, maintain, update and support a range of IT systems including hardware, operating systems, software, and peripherals; conduct asset management and assist with local and global IT projects; coordinate communication with users and management; review IT system performance; and support related infrastructure groups.
  • End User Training: Identify, recommend, develop and implement training programs to improve computer literacy.

Qualifications

Formal Education & Certification: University degree in computer science, information systems or equivalent experience with current technical certifications or motivation to attain them.

Knowledge & Experience: Hands-on experience installing IT hardware and software; working technical knowledge of operating systems (Windows, iOS, Android), network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and other IT tools; ability to read technical documentation; and familiarity with project management principles.

Personal Attributes: Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills, customer service orientation, self-motivation, ability to prioritize tasks under pressure, and experience working in collaborative environments.

Note: Due to the restricted nature of work, only US Citizens and US Persons (permanent residents) will be considered. Employment visa sponsorship (e.g. H-1B) is not available for this role.
