Quality Team Lead

Position Summary

We are seeking a Quality Team Lead to support the daily operations of our inspection team within a fast-paced aerospace environment. This role is ideal for quality professionals with strong technical inspection experience who are ready to take on more responsibility and mentor others.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day inspection activities under the guidance of the Sr. Quality Team Lead/Quality Supervisor.
• Train team members in interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and using measurement tools.
• Review inspection documentation for completeness, accuracy, and traceability.
• Assist in identifying and escalating quality issues, supporting root cause and corrective action efforts.
• Ensure adherence to AS9100, customer-specific, and internal quality procedures.
• Support internal audits and preparation for external/customer audits.
• Work with production and engineering to resolve quality-related concerns in a timely manner.
• Maintain an organized and efficient inspection area, promoting continuous improvement and a strong quality culture.

Qualifications

Associate degree or equivalent technical training preferred; high school diploma with 3+ years of aerospace inspection or manufacturing quality experience required. Working knowledge of AS9100 requirements and aerospace inspection standards. Proficient in use of standard inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, and height gauges. Familiarity with reading blueprints, GD&T, and technical specifications. Solid communication and interpersonal skills for team leadership and peer development. Experience training or mentoring inspectors is highly desirable. Must pass a vision test.

Preferred Skills

Familiarity with quality management systems (QMS) and ERP/MRP software (SAP preferred), exposure to FAIRs, PPAP, or APQP methodologies, and ASQ certifications (e.g., CQI, CQT) are a plus.

Work Environment

This is primarily a shop floor-based role in a climate-controlled manufacturing environment. Regular standing, walking, and use of inspection equipment are required, with occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
