Quality Engineer II

Position Overview

Alarm.com's Quality Engineer II supports our Video surveillance solutions by testing network devices and configurations on multiple software platforms. In this role, you will collaborate with technology teams to ensure our products meet strict quality standards in functionality and performance. You will be deeply involved in the product lifecycle, driving quality improvements through testing and analysis.

Responsibilities

• Develop and update test plans and documentation.
• Analyze new products, features, and their interactions with existing systems.
• Collaborate with Developers, Product Management, and Customer Support to ensure end-to-end quality.
• Execute tests, track defects, and verify resolutions.
• Apply testing methodologies to certify products.
• Support weekly software and web deployments.
• Understand end-user usage and provide quality insights.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Science, or Information Technology. Key skills include problem solving, troubleshooting, test case development in a BDD environment, and strong communication. Familiarity with Linux and command line operations is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a related field.
• Good understanding of computer networking and troubleshooting.
• Experience with functional and regression testing.
• Proficient with Wireshark and SQL Server.

Work Arrangement

This role requires in-office presence 4 days per week.
