About the Role

Would you like to empower organizations to protect their API Ecosystems? Become a trusted advisor in API discovery, threat mitigation, and posture management with Akamai Technologies. Join our Enterprise Security Solution Engineering Group to work with customers and implement API security solutions for maximum impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the technical sales lifecycle including discovery, solution design, and product demonstrations.
  • Translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
  • Serve as the go-to expert on API security for customers and internal teams.
  • Educate sales teams on API security trends and best practices.
  • Act as the technical point of contact ensuring customer success.
  • Gather requirements and collaborate with product and engineering teams.
  • Present Akamai's API security vision at industry events and webinars.
  • Partner with sales, product management, and engineering to improve customer experience.

Requirements

  • Excellent knowledge of APIs, API gateways, web application firewalls, and API security practices.
  • At least 5 years of experience in technical pre-sales, solution architecture, or a related role in cybersecurity or API-related fields.
  • Proficiency in internet technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS, and RESTful APIs.
  • Hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python, JavaScript, or Bash.
  • Familiarity with cloud platform infrastructures (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures.
  • Experience with deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications.
  • Fluency in both spoken and written English and Mandarin.
  • Strong presentation skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
