About the Intern - Cloud Site Reliability Role
Do you enjoy collaborating with teams to solve complex challenges? Join our highly skilled Site Reliability Engineering team at Akamai Technologies. As an intern, you will gain valuable experience by working on meaningful project work related to Compute products and services, focusing primarily on identity and access management (IAM) solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in design, development, and automation of AuthZ systems
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for code development and effective communication
- Contribute to internal research and share best practices
- Diagnose system performance and reliability with SRE team
- Learn about distributed systems, products, and technical stacks
Required Qualifications
Applicants should be students in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or related fields. Knowledge in scripting (Python, Bash), SQL, monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus), GNU/Linux/Unix systems, and understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, TLS/SSL) is essential.
Internship Details
This internship starts on July 1st for a duration of 6 months. Full-time work is required during the summer (40 hours per week) with part-time options during the academic year. The role is flexible and can be performed from home or at the local Akamai office, depending on location.
