What You’ll Do as Engineering Lead, Payments Platform

You will lead a team of engineers, overseeing both people and technical aspects to deliver high-quality payment solutions. You will work closely with the payments product team and partner engineering teams, ensuring robust and scalable systems are built and maintained.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and set development targets for a team of engineers.
  • Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define roadmaps and prioritize projects.
  • Develop REST services and integration components within a backend microservices architecture.
  • Conduct architectural reviews and address technical debt to improve operational effectiveness.
  • Contribute to hiring, training, and development initiatives for the team.

Who You Are

You bring over 8 years of software engineering experience focused on low latency, distributed systems and at least one year in a managerial role. Proficiency in Java or Kotlin with Spring Boot, experience in REST API design, high-volume distributed systems, event streams, and containerized deployments is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building a payment gateway, acquiring or issuing platform.
  • Experience integrating local payment methods or card networks such as Visa and Mastercard.
