Intelligence Data Engineer
Airbus Defence & Space is looking for a brilliant and dynamic Data Engineer (m/f) to join our Data Science team in Elancourt (78). You will be integrated in a group gathering data scientists, artificial intelligence experts, and software development engineers who daily bridge the gap between R&T and R&D in the domain of Intelligence information systems for external customers as well as internal Airbus products.
Your activities will be contributing to the development, customization, and promotion of our Massive Intelligence platform. This system integrates and synchronizes multi-source processing, exploitation, and dissemination of all collective assets and own Intelligence data bases of a customer. With functions including the processing, exploitation, and fusion of huge volumes of heterogeneous data, supported by automated processing and smart dissemination, it directly supports decision makers at all levels of command.
This position will require a security clearance or will require being eligible for clearance by the recognized authorities.
Missions
The Intelligence Data Engineer will be part of our Data Science department, building common assets for our solutions for further delivery to our program lines and/or proof of concept as well as minimum viable products demonstrations. Your main missions will encompass:
- Contribution of scenario definition together with operational users, focusing on their needs, from their data.
- Contribution to the development of the architecture platform.
- Design and development of data workflows, data processing chains, and visualization dashboards in a big data / massive analysis context.
- Integration at component level in cloud environments (internally developed components as well as partners’).
- Demonstration and operational promotion of the platform, internally and externally.
- Active participation in engineering reviews and support to risk and opportunities analysis.
- Permanently track new technology streams in the field of big data engineering and feed the team with this knowledge.
Key skills and competencies
The Intelligence Data Engineer will master data lake technologies, data engineering technologies, as well as need-to-know technologies of utmost importance for our defense and security customers, including:
- Docker, ElasticSearch / Kibana, Nifi
- Python and / or Java
- Bash, JSON, Curl
- Git
- FastAPI, Spring Boot, Swagger
- Kubernetes, Helm, Ansible, Rook Ceph
- MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Linux and Windows platforms
A team development experience in an Agile / SAFe environment is also a must. Negotiation level of English and French is mandatory.
Moreover, you will be working with:
- Intelligence experts: we are looking for candidates with basic knowledge on geoserver / GEOINT as well as relational graphs skills in order to tackle IMINT, HUMINT, COMINT and SIGINT challenges.
- Analytics experts: at least beginner skills on artificial intelligence frameworks and mindsets matter to us (deep learning and Tensorflow for example).
A first experience in a similar role in any industrial application field is required. We are looking for a team worker, flexible and adaptable to new challenges. A great part of the mission is linked to relationships with customers through use case definition, co-development, and demonstrations; this is the reason why we expect very good communication skills as well as a business-oriented mindset. Our team is located on several sites and several countries; daily communication will be done in English.
