The Difference You Will Make

We are looking for a mixed methods Staff UX Researcher with a strong foundation in, and passion for quantitative research in addition to an ability and comfort to flex into qualitative projects as needed.

In this role, you will use your knowledge of research design and quantitative analytical skills to plan and execute large-scale data collection, uncover insights from qualitative and quantitative data, and translate those insights into strategic and actionable recommendations.

Your research will focus across methods and Airbnb’s online and offline experience—after all, most experiences with Airbnb happen when travelers are not using our digital products. And you are at the front lines of delivering insights from around the world, making Airbnb a truly global/local product.

A Typical Day as a Staff UX Researcher

  • Conduct practical and impactful quantitative research on our community of hosts and guests.
  • Uncover insights about users by using sophisticated and innovative methodologies, measurement strategies, experiments, and mixed-methods research.
  • Partner and share insights with product teams, other insights teams, data scientists, marketers, policy managers, and executives.

Your Expertise

  • Masters or PhD in Psychology, Survey Science/Methods, Human-Computer Interaction, Economics, Political Science, or a related field
  • 10+ years of industry experience
  • Strong storytelling skills, ability to bring data and insights to life in compelling ways for varied audiences
  • Experience with statistical analysis, modeling, experimental design, and survey design
  • Experience with statistical analysis packages and (R, Stata, SPSS, etc.)
  • Experience with survey programming platforms (Confirmit, Qualtrics, etc.)
  • Experience conducting in-depth interviews and foundational qualitative methods
  • Comfort using usability testing tools (UserTesting, dscout, outset.ai, etc.)
  • Experience managing projects involving cross-functional teams
  • Familiarity with SQL

Bonus Experience

  • 6+ years in-house experience working in tech, hospitality, or a dual-sided marketplace
  • Experience with ETL and Python Coding/scripting skills
  • Experience with cross-cultural products or international surveys

Your Location

This position is US - Remote Eligible. The role may include occasional work at an Airbnb office or attendance at offsites, as agreed to with your manager. How We'll Take Care Of You

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for bonus, equity, benefits, and Employee Travel Credits.

Pay Range

$176,000—$220,000 USD
