Airbnb is seeking an Advanced Analytics Contractor to support product and business decision-making for the Host teams. This role will act as a senior analytics partner, delivering high-impact analysis, experimentation, and reporting to inform business and product strategy and execution.
This is a hands-on, execution-focused role designed to accelerate progress on critical analytics needs during a period of constrained capacity. The contractor will be expected to operate independently, partner closely with cross-functional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality outputs on defined timelines.
The Advanced Analytics roles will develop and lead initiatives focused on ensuring we have the right supply of hosts in the right places at the right times. They will lead measurement and develop insights leveraging a wide range of internal and external data sources to ensure the business is making the right decisions for both strategic direction and tactical execution.
The ideal candidate is someone with a strong data and analytics background. This person is curious, engaged, positive, and detail- and solutions-oriented. The world— and thus our industry— is changing quickly so the ideal candidate will be comfortable with responding promptly and changing course as needed when priorities and reporting needs shift.
This role will be expected to be highly collaborative, and work regularly with multiple stakeholders and cross functional partners across Supply, Finance, Data Science, Operations, Engineering, and Marketing.
The right candidate will already be recognized as a leader in the data and analytics field at this level, with a proven track record of using a range of strategies and disciplines to solve complex and ambiguous measurement problems for business teams. This person will also use their considerable experience with data and insights storytelling to influence large-scale strategic programs.
You must be comfortable working in a global company, delivering counsel and guidance to senior leadership across the team and organization. The successful candidate will have solid experience creating internal advocacy and influencing multiple senior audiences on hard to communicate topics.
What You'll Do
- Conduct strategic deep dives and employ advanced data analysis to extract actionable insights that inform hyper-local decisions.
- Design, develop, and maintain a complete suite of self-service dashboards and tools to provide insights to a variety of stakeholders.
- Project out future business opportunities and needs to maintain a long-term roadmap of initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Finance, Data Science, Operations, Engineering, and Marketing to align strategies and leverage complementary skills.
Your Expertise
- 10+ years of social and influencer measurement experience and background.
- High proficiency in SQL for data analysis.
- Strong data / analytics background, fluency with experimentation (AB test, experiment, causal inference), and measurement models.
- Deep experience in advanced analytics or business data science within a marketplace or business strategy setting.
- Exceptional business acumen, strategic thinking skills, and the ability to make informed judgments.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with a variety of stakeholders and conveying complex concepts in an accessible manner.
- Proven track record for seamlessly working across different teams and partners.
- Positive and collaborative personality and a commitment to ensuring all activities undertaken are as successful as possible.
- Extremely capable in independently structuring and managing fast-paced and sometimes complex workflow and priorities.
