About the Role
The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) is looking for a full-time Information Technology (IT) Cybersecurity Specialist, (GG-2210-13), working within the Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division Crypto Modernization Program, at the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Joint Base San Antonio – Lackland Air Force Base, in San Antonio, Texas.
This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V2007.
Salary: $132,751 - $181,428 (based on experience)
Relocation: Expenses may be paid.
Work Arrangement: 20% Telework possible with approval.

Qualifications/Requirements
- Serve as a professional information technology (IT) specialist providing a wide range of IT services tailored to support architecture development, software development, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities for cyberspace systems.
- Provides advanced knowledge and skill in the development, use, and sustainment of IT systems; considered an advanced IT user.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a “Top Secret” Security clearance with eligibility to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
- Requires at a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
- Must obtain & maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification (e.g. CISSP, CASP+, CCSP) within 6 months of assigned duties.
- This position is designated as a Drug Test Designated Position.
- Knowledge of IT systems analysis and applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities sufficient to evaluate new and emerging IT security methods and principles, the feasibility of proposed new systems and applications software projects; and to design, write, test, debug, and maintain information systems and applications software and ensure successful integration with existing and anticipated infrastructure in the cyber weapon system environment.
- Knowledge of operational activities (such as special operations, personnel recovery, airlift, etc.), weapon systems, and command, control, and mission process, systems, and applications.
- Knowledge of IT management information systems and applications software technology to isolate causes of problems between hardware, system, and applications software programs and to measure system performance, evaluate risk, and/or extend weapon system capabilities to support organizational business processes and operations.
- Knowledge of IT management information systems requirements and application software development techniques required in carrying out project assignments of considerable difficulty and with little specificity regarding approach to be followed.
- Ability to maintain an up-to-date awareness of technological advances and predict how management can meet future requirements.
- Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions and staff of an organization.
