The Role: Product Manager, Data and AI

The Product Manager, Data and AI, plays a critical role in defining, prioritizing, and managing data product roadmaps for specific domains within Air Canada. This position is key to driving our data product vision, focusing on continuous product delivery and overall success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set the vision, roadmap, and prioritization for data-driven initiatives.
  • Lead and influence cross-matrix teams to drive successful outcomes.
  • Define, prioritize, and manage the data product backlog, collaborating closely with agile development teams.
  • Analyze business needs, translating them into clear requirements to ensure data solutions effectively meet stakeholder needs.
  • Act as the essential link between stakeholders and teams, tracking delivery progress and reporting on key milestones to leadership.
  • Develop innovative and effective approaches to solve complex business problems using data analytics.
  • Actively communicate project results and methodologies to relevant parties.
  • Understand and document data dependencies, business rules, and data flow diagrams, detailing interactions between source systems and data consumers, as well as logical processes and interfaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree combined with mandatory experience (5+ years) as a Product Manager, Business Analyst, or Product Owner on Data projects, including hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle. M.Sc. preferred.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to define and execute on a strategic vision, demonstrating flexibility to adapt as required.
  • Strong communicator with an acute ability to bridge business stakeholder expectations with technical know-how.
  • Possess strong quantitative and analytical skills, coupled with robust business acumen and sound judgment.
  • An independent self-starter with a proactive "can-do" attitude and a genuine curiosity to learn.
  • Familiarity with working with analytics, data platforms, and user testing to drive desired outcomes.
  • Outstanding communication, presentation, and leadership skills are essential.
  • Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
