The Role: Security Researcher

As a Security Researcher at Aikido Security, you will play a critical role in analyzing code, investigating new threats, and developing robust detection logic that underpins our security platform. Your contributions will directly impact our ability to identify vulnerable dependencies, insecure coding patterns, and the real-world security risks faced by developers. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with engineering and product teams, translating cutting-edge security research into tangible product capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze codebases to pinpoint vulnerabilities and evaluate security risks.
• Conduct thorough research and analysis of malware samples to enhance our detection capabilities.
• Develop and implement detection rules and logic for our security scanning tools.
• Monitor and analyze emerging threats to continually improve our detection systems.
• Collaborate closely with engineers to integrate research findings into product features.
• Effectively communicate complex security findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to security research efforts by developing small tools or scripts as needed.

What We're Looking For

• Strong foundational understanding of security principles and common vulnerability types.
• Proficiency in reading and analyzing code across various programming languages.
• A keen curiosity about software exploitation and how attackers compromise systems.
• Ability to conduct independent problem investigations and articulate findings clearly.
• A quick learner, adaptable, and eager to drive continuous growth.

Nice To Have

• Experience in vulnerability research or static analysis.
• Background in penetration testing or ethical hacking.
• Experience with malware analysis or reverse engineering.
• Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python.
