Overview
The Machine Operator role at Ahlstrom involves operating and maintaining machinery on the production line while ensuring a clean and safe work environment.
Key Accountabilities and Essential Functions
- Operate and maintain machinery and record raw material usage.
- Assist with machine wash-ups, changes and daily cleaning.
- Handle, transport, and stage raw materials and chemicals.
- Comply with Lock-Out, Tag Out and safety procedures.
- Prepare chemical formulations following written instructions.
- Physically handle materials up to 50 pounds.
- Monitor work environment for unsafe acts and report immediately.
- Participate in cross-training for alternate production roles.
Educational & Experience Requirements
High school diploma; Basic math skills; Ability to read and write English; 3 months to 1 year experience in industrial manufacturing preferred; Computer literacy and willingness to learn.
Physical Demands
- Ability to handle up to 50 lbs; work in fluctuating temperatures.
- Vigilance around machinery and adherence to safety procedures.
- Wearing protective equipment and performing duties in varying conditions.
