Role Overview: Accounting Specialist

The Accounting Specialist will work with the Professional Services Accounting team to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting and invoicing. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with excellent client service skills, a drive for process efficiency, and strong collaborative abilities.

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Review and approve contractor bills with accurate coding for financial reporting.
  • Record cash receipts and update account reconciliations.
  • Assist in ensuring invoices are submitted and approved via customer portals.
  • Prepare and distribute customer invoices timely and accurately.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams on customer correspondence.
  • Identify and implement process efficiencies across teams.
  • Support team members on special projects as needed.
  • Maintain positive relationships with stakeholders and customers.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
  • 4 to 6 years of relevant experience.
  • Critical thinking, analytical skills, and a desire to learn end-to-end processes.
  • Experience with financial reporting systems (NetSuite and SalesForce preferred).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment under tight timelines.
  • Proactive communication regarding status and challenges.
