Desktop Support Engineer
AGRIM is seeking a motivated and experienced Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Gurugram. This is a full-time position for candidates with 1-3 years of experience.
Job Summary
We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer with hands-on experience in desktop/laptop troubleshooting, hardware-level diagnostics, inventory management, and asset tracking using Excel and other tools. The ideal candidate should be able to handle both day-to-day user support and backend IT asset control activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day IT support for desktops, laptops, printers, and other peripherals.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues including RAM, HDD, SSD, motherboard, SMPS, keyboard, mouse, etc.
- Perform hardware upgrades and part replacements when necessary.
- Manage and update the IT inventory of laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, mobile devices, and accessories.
- Maintain proper documentation of asset allocation, returns, damages, and repairs.
- Use Microsoft Excel effectively for asset mapping, tracking, and updating the Fixed Asset Register (FAR).
- Generate asset reports, allocation lists, and reconciliation sheets using Excel functions (VLOOKUP, PIVOT, filters, etc.).
- Tag and label IT assets properly with unique IDs for audit and tracking purposes.
- Coordinate with vendors for hardware purchase, warranty claims, and support.
- Support basic networking tasks including LAN/Wi-Fi connectivity, printer sharing, and cable management.
- Keep operating systems and software up to date and ensure antivirus compliance.
- Assist in IT audits by providing asset status and supporting documentation.
- Maintain stock availability for frequently used IT accessories and replacement parts.
- Handle data backup tasks and formatting of returned devices.
- Ensure all IT equipment follows company security and usage policy guidelines.
Requirements
- Minimum 1–3 years of experience in desktop or hardware support roles.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, assembling, and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of Excel for IT asset mapping and reporting.
- Familiarity with Windows OS, MS Office, antivirus tools, and basic networking.
- Experience in inventory management and maintaining asset registers.
