About The Role

The Senior System Engineer (IT Engineer) role at K2 Staffing, LLC offers an exciting opportunity for experienced IT professionals to lead the design, deployment, and management of complex IT infrastructures. This position involves consulting with clients to develop strategic technology plans, implementing cloud and on-premises solutions, and troubleshooting intricate system issues. The Senior System Engineer will serve as a technical expert, guiding junior team members and ensuring the delivery of high-quality IT services. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in systems administration, cloud technologies, and network security, with a passion for staying current on industry trends and emerging threats.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of experience in systems design, administration, and troubleshooting. Extensive knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server technologies (including Exchange, RDS, SQL, IIS), and cloud platforms such as Azure, Office 365, AWS, Google Cloud, and G-Suite is essential. Candidates must demonstrate confidence in diagnosing, repairing, and installing server and network systems, with in-depth experience in virtualization technologies like VMWare, Nutanix, and SANs. A solid understanding of networking protocols and devices, including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switches, firewalls, DNS, VPN, and VoIP (Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall), is required. Familiarity with RMM tools (NinjaONE, Kaseya, Connectwise) and PSA ticketing solutions (Autotask, Connectwise) is highly preferred. Certifications such as MCSA Server, MCSE, Cisco, Fortinet, VMWare, Nutanix, or equivalent are advantageous. Strong communication skills, the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment, and a proactive approach to continuous learning are critical for success in this role.

Responsibilities

• Implement, monitor, and troubleshoot Microsoft Cloud environments for clients.
• Perform system administration tasks and manage IT projects from conception to completion.
• Design scalable and secure IT solutions, working with technology vendors for deployment.
• Develop strategic technology plans for clients and provide advanced diagnostics and remediation.
• Create comprehensive documentation for ongoing operations and troubleshooting.
• Manage multiple tasks efficiently and participate in on-call rotations for 24/7 support.
• Stay updated on new technologies, industry trends, and security threats.
