About The Role

We are seeking experienced and proactive Quality Engineers to join Princeton Tool Inc. This role is pivotal in ensuring our manufacturing processes meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. As a Quality Engineer, you will work directly on the production floor, collaborating closely with machinists, inspectors, programmers, and leadership to troubleshoot issues, implement process improvements, and uphold quality standards aligned with customer specifications and industry regulations such as AS9100 and NADCAP. Your expertise will help reduce defects, enhance process capabilities, and support continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, making timely decisions and providing immediate support for quality issues related to complex machined castings and tight tolerances.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, manufacturing, quality, or a related technical field preferred. Candidates with extensive experience in lieu of a degree will also be considered.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a quality functional role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience working in an AS9100-certified environment is required.
  • Familiarity with AS13100 compliance requirements is preferred.
  • Certification such as ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) is highly desirable.
  • Experience with turbine components, complex castings, or tight-tolerance machining is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot complex quality issues.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate hands-on support for production quality issues on the manufacturing floor, troubleshooting dimensional, cosmetic, tooling, fixturing, and process-related nonconformances.
  • Work directly with production machinists, setup personnel, programmers, and inspectors to resolve issues in real time, supporting first-piece approvals, in-process inspections, and final acceptance activities.
  • Assist with part over-inspections and review machining processes for potential quality risks, recommending corrective actions as needed.
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) activities and support disposition of nonconforming materials.
  • Lead or support root cause investigations to identify underlying issues and drive containment and corrective actions to prevent recurrence of defects.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of corrective actions and validate sustainable improvements through data analysis and follow-up.
  • Support customer complaint investigations and develop appropriate responses to ensure customer satisfaction and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards such as AS9100, customer specifications, internal quality procedures, and NADCAP requirements where applicable.
  • Assist with internal, customer, and third-party audits, ensuring readiness and compliance at all times.
  • Support maintenance and continuous improvement of quality documentation, control plans, inspection procedures, and process documentation.
  • Review and approve quality-related process documentation and inspection plans to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze scrap, rework, and defect trends to identify opportunities for process improvements and quality enhancements.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at yield enhancement, scrap reduction, process capability, operator error reduction, and inspection efficiency.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineering and operations teams to improve process stability and quality performance.
  • Support and troubleshoot Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM), gauging, and inspection-related issues, verifying measurement techniques and inspection methods for effectiveness and repeatability.
  • Assist in gauge selection, validation, and Measurement System Analysis (MSA) activities to ensure measurement accuracy and reliability.
