About The Role
GrabJobs is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Oracle APEX Developer II to join our Information Technology department. This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work on the development, support, and enhancement of enterprise-level applications utilizing Oracle APEX and related technologies. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the full lifecycle development of custom Oracle applications, ensuring seamless integration and functionality to meet organizational needs. This role requires a self-starter with excellent communication skills, capable of working independently with limited supervision while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Oracle database management, web development, and scripting, with a focus on delivering innovative solutions that improve operational efficiency and user experience.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience; however, a high school diploma combined with additional years of experience and relevant certifications may be considered. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a public trust security clearance are mandatory. Candidates should have extensive experience with full lifecycle development of Oracle applications, particularly using the Oracle APEX toolset, and proficiency with Oracle Integrated Development Environments such as Quest Toad and Oracle SQL Developer. Expertise in web technologies including JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML is essential. Strong knowledge of PL/SQL, Java, Windows PowerShell, and Unix shell scripting, along with familiarity with built-in PLSQL packages and procedures, is required. Candidates should also have experience managing unstructured data types like BLOBs, CLOBs, JSON, and XMLType within Oracle environments. Additional qualifications include experience with Oracle Database products version 11 and above, Oracle Forms and Reports, and troubleshooting operational issues. Prior government contracting experience, particularly with the Department of Justice, and a current DOJ security clearance are highly desirable.
Responsibilities
The Senior Oracle APEX Developer II will work under the guidance of the program manager to support the entire development lifecycle of custom Oracle applications. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise-grade web applications using Oracle APEX, ensuring they meet security, performance, and usability standards. The role involves creating dynamic reports within the Oracle APEX environment and supporting integration with BI Publisher templates and web services. The developer will be responsible for designing and manipulating web content dynamically through JQuery, Ajax, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML to deliver responsive and user-friendly interfaces. Additionally, the candidate will support Oracle database objects such as tables, indexes, directories, sequences, and triggers, ensuring data integrity and efficient retrieval. Building logical functions and algorithms to automate business processes is also a key aspect of the role. The position requires establishing clear project goals, adhering to project timelines, and maintaining comprehensive documentation of work products. The developer will troubleshoot operational issues, optimize application performance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including security and infrastructure, is essential to ensure seamless integration and deployment of solutions.
