About The Role

We are seeking an experienced Android Developer to join our dynamic team at Simera. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality mobile applications for the Android platform. The ideal candidate will possess a strong passion for mobile technology, demonstrate proficiency in writing clean and efficient code, and have a knack for collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams. Your contributions will directly influence the user experience and functionality of our mobile products, helping us deliver innovative solutions that meet and exceed client expectations.

Qualifications

The successful candidate should have proven experience as an Android Developer, with published applications available on the Google Play Store. Proficiency in Java and Kotlin is essential, along with a solid understanding of the Android SDK, Android Studio, and related development tools. Candidates should have experience working with RESTful APIs, JSON, and integrating third-party libraries. A strong grasp of Android UI/UX design principles, including Material Design, is required. Knowledge of databases such as SQLite and Room, as well as offline storage solutions, is important. Familiarity with Git for version control is also necessary. A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience, is expected.

Nice-to-have skills include:

• Experience with Jetpack Compose
• CI/CD pipelines
• Firebase services
• Cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced applications for the Android platform, ensuring optimal performance and user experience.
• Collaborate with product managers, UI/UX designers, and fellow developers to define project requirements and implement innovative features.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code using Kotlin and Java, adhering to best coding practices.
• Integrate backend services via APIs and third-party libraries to enhance app functionality.
• Conduct thorough testing to identify bugs and issues, and implement fixes to improve application stability and performance.
• Optimize applications for maximum speed, responsiveness, and efficiency across various devices and Android versions.
• Stay updated with emerging Android trends, tools, and industry best practices to continually improve development processes.
• Participate in code reviews, team meetings, and knowledge-sharing sessions to foster a collaborative development environment.
• Maintain documentation for code and application architecture to support ongoing maintenance and future development.
