About The Role

We are seeking a talented and experienced AI Software Engineer to join our dynamic team remotely. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and deploying multi-agent systems, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) architectures, and integrating large language models (LLMs) into scalable production environments. Your work will directly impact our cutting-edge platforms, enabling autonomous workflows that reason, plan, and execute tasks with minimal human intervention. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to translate complex user needs into practical AI solutions, ensuring high performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in software engineering, AI, and machine learning, with a proven track record of building production systems. You should have at least 4+ years of experience in developing scalable software solutions, with deep expertise in frameworks such as LangChain, Mastra, or LlamaIndex. Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js is essential, along with a solid understanding of API design and frontend integration. Experience with retrieval systems, embeddings, vector databases, and semantic search is highly desirable. Familiarity with multi-agent workflows, prompt engineering, and context management in LLMs is critical. Additionally, you should demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills, effective communication, and a proactive mindset to navigate complex technical challenges. Bonus points for experience with Next.js, open-source AI contributions, fine-tuning models, or knowledge in NLP and AI research.

Responsibilities

As an AI Software Engineer at CambrianEdge.ai, your core responsibilities will include designing and deploying agentic workflows capable of autonomous reasoning, planning, and execution. You will architect and optimize RAG systems, building retrieval pipelines that surface relevant context efficiently and accurately. Your role involves integrating various LLMs, including OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini, and open-source models, into scalable applications, managing prompt engineering, and response optimization. You will own the full stack development process, from API design to frontend integration, ensuring seamless user experiences and system reliability. Monitoring system performance, latency, token usage, and cost metrics will be crucial, along with troubleshooting and fixing issues promptly. Collaboration with product and design teams to translate user requirements into technical solutions is vital, as is continuously exploring new models, frameworks, and techniques to improve our offerings. You will also contribute to maintaining high standards of code quality, documentation, and testing to ensure robust deployment of AI systems.
