Job Summary

Agile Defense is seeking a Senior Network Installation Specialist to support the U.S. Army's modernization efforts for IT infrastructure and communication systems. This role involves physical onsite network surveys, installation support of hardware, and technical direction for system deployment, configuration, and testing. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in system implementation architecture and a deep understanding of IT infrastructure components. This position requires extensive travel (90%) and an active Secret clearance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute complex technical projects, from survey and engineering to site implementation.
  • Develop and maintain high installation and service standards, leading and training network installation technicians.
  • Act as a technical knowledge resource for project managers and field technicians.
  • Communicate directly with project managers as the primary contact for field installation teams.
  • Ensure engineering schedules are met or exceeded and collaborate with stakeholders to translate requirements into IT implementation designs.
  • Lead the implementation and deployment of IT systems, ensuring adherence to project timelines and quality standards.
  • Perform physical onsite network surveys to determine engineering solutions.
  • Provide client-site network installation support, including service delivery nodes.
  • Prepare and deliver complex site reports, documents, diagrams, and VISIO drawings.
  • Train and certify others to develop proficiency in network installation.
  • Provide input for procedural documentation for field tasks.
  • Configure installed technology, including cryptographic, MPLS, optical, and timing equipment.
  • Perform troubleshooting and fault isolation to bring installed equipment to a functional state.
  • Coordinate with network engineers for installation testing and acceptance.
  • Provide project design support to meet customer objectives.
  • Assess, design, build, and document site network configurations and user requirements.
  • Interpret Site Engineering Solutions (SES) and modify designs based on real-world conditions.
  • Direct and lead the preparation of drawings documenting configuration changes.
  • Perform system-level design and configuration, determining hardware and platform specifications.
  • Document as-built configurations and produce Completion Reports (CR).
  • Provide oversight and guidance of client-site installation support services.
  • Maintain high standards of installation services and instill this in assigned field technicians.
  • Provide onsite and remote technical direction for system deployment, configuration, commissioning, and testing.
  • Ensure assigned field technicians remain current on required training and certifications.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience as an Implementation Engineer.
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance; Top Secret preferred.
  • Ability to travel 90% of the time on deployments for both CONUS and potentially OCONUS locations.
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work in confined spaces (server closets, raised floors).
